Q1. Does my child need to swim well to be able to dive?
A1. In order to register in our classes, your child must be comfortable swimming in deep water so they can swim out of the diving tank.
Q2. Does my child need to compete at Dive Meets?
A2. Recreational divers will be able to participate in 2 to 3 dive meets per year. Please let your coach know if your child would like to compete at one of our fun diving competitions. These dive meets are usually located at Walnut Grove Aquatic Centre in Langley.
Competitive Team divers are expected to compete at competitions identified by the Head Coach.
Q3. Does my child need prior diving experience?
A3. No - Our Recreational program is designed to teach each individual the basics of diving.
Q4. Does my child need gymnastics experience?
A4. No, however we find that gymnasts, cheerleaders, dancers and circus kids tend to pick up diving quickly.
Q5. Does my child need to buy a uniform?
A5. Children can wear whatever bathing suit they are comfortable in. However, we do recommend that girls wear one-piece suits.
Q6. What are the Fees?
A6. Fees vary depending on length of session and number of classes email us to check current availability and cost.

Q8. At what age can my child start diving?
A8. The minimum age to register is 6 years old. In addition, parents are the best judge of whether a younger diver will enjoy the program and to this end are welcome to come watch a diving class before registering (but please do not interrupt the coaches during a class.)
Q9. How does my child join the Dive Club/Team?
A9. Admission to this full-year program is at the invitation of the Head Coach. For information about joining our Recreational/Competitive Program, please contact us.
Q10. Where do you practice?
A10. The North Shore Dolphins Dive Club offers a comprehensive range of springboard diving programs for children, teens and adults at the West Vancouver Aquatic Centre and at Ron Andrews pool in North Vancouver.
Some Dive Club team members are also invited by the Head Coach to train at the Vancouver Aquatic Centre.
Q11. What days are the lessons/practices?

Q12. How long do you practice?
A12. Our classes are generally 1 hour long and Team training is generally 3 hours long with an hour of dry land and two hours of diving
